WHO WE ARE

Baseline Animal Welfare Foundation’s mission is to support and enhance connections among persons and organizations in the animal welfare community. Our goal is to provide prompt funding, tools and information needed by those who endeavor to rescue neglected, injured, suffering and/or stray animals of all types. We support care, health assessments, treatments, transportation, spay/neuter and other needs of newly rescued animals. Baseline Animal Welfare also supports the community by providing animal welfare information and education to the public.

We stand for those who cannot speak, offering refuge, care, and a future filled with hope. Every animal we help brings us closer to a kinder, more humane tomorrow.

Founder, Tanya White

Tanya White - President

tanya@baselineanimalwelfare.org

Tanya is from the Cypress, Texas area where she and Kathy grew up riding their horses along Cypress Creek exploring and dreaming of their various futures. Tanya went to work for various horse trainers including a stent with race horses, before getting married and moving to her current home located in Magnolia, Tx, during the 1980’s.

The goal was to have a horse farm but divorce and needing to make a living changed those plans. Her career path led to Construction. In 1995 she started a light general contracting business but also went back to school earning her RN License not knowing where she would fit in the construction industry back in the 90’s. The construction company, although it has had it’s ups and downs, is successful. It has found a niche which has allowed her to follow her heart and officially find a place in the Animal Welfare community.

Since Tanya was a small child, she has owned, rescued and cared for animals of all kinds but …the calling recently became stronger and more focused as a result of the associations with Kathy and Robin, hence the formation of Baseline Animal Welfare Foundation, Inc.

Robin Gaines

robin@baselineanimalwelfare.org

Robin Gaines is from the Central Texas area, but has been well known in the Magnolia, Texas area for years for her tireless efforts involving feline TNR (Trap Neuter & Release) working on her own and with other organizations. She has also been of service for those that just need guidance with their pet or local stray cat’s spay and neuter, vaccines, low cost medical services, etc.

She assists with dogs and puppies as well, but cat rescue is her primary passion. Back in 2017 she experienced the satisfaction of saving a stray cat and a local neighborhood from an exploding feral cat population. Robin trapped the momma cat and drove an hour away to a clinic that offered low cost spay and neuter services for feral cats. She came to the Magnolia area as the owner of Equine Productions (a videography company specializing in Dressage horses). The passion for Cat rescue/TNR, however, has been an overriding passion. She began working with other local organizations like Bruce Kapp Memorial Animal Fund and A Smart Rescue to expand her efforts.

Robin and Tanya originally met at horse shows in the early 2000’s, where Robin was the official videographer at a Dressage Horse Show. In 2023 they met again at a local training farm where Tanya witnessed the amazing work she was providing. This work has substantially affected the local cat population and their health in general. They have now teamed up with Kathy to further expand these efforts as Baseline Animal Welfare Foundation.

Kathy Mcchesney

kathy@baselineanimalwelfare.org

Kathy was born and raised in the Houston, Texas area. Kathy is a lifetime lover of, and passionate advocate for, all four-legged creatures. Kathy worked as an airline pilot until her retirement in 2021. She is also a licensed attorney and amateur artist. Her proudest accomplishments, however, are those that involve the rescue and support of animals in need. Kathy founded and ran a small animal rescue, Lost to Loved, in Texas from 2014 until she moved out of state in 2018. Through that rescue, she and her partners (including Tanya White) rescued, provided vet care, and adoptions for animals in Montgomery County and surrounding areas.

Since retirement, she has become involved as a volunteer and board member at Cat Care Society, a cat shelter in Lakewood, Colorado. She looks forward to working with Baseline Animal Foundation to enhance connections between animal welfare supporters in Texas, Colorado, and other states.
